All Upcoming Marvel Phase Six Movies

Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Phase Six is the final part of the “Multiverse Saga,” which also includes Phases Four and Five. This phase is expected to run from the middle of 2025 to the middle of 2027. It will include a mix of movies and Disney+ shows that are all connected. Phase Six will focus on ending the multiverse storylines and will also bring in new characters and exciting changes to the MCU.

Phase Six will focus on solving the problems caused by the multiverse—a concept where many different versions of the universe exist at the same time. In the past phases, we saw how heroes and villains from different worlds started to appear and interact with each other. Now, in Phase Six, those stories will come together and reach a big conclusion.

A big focus of MCU Phase Six is the multiverse — a concept where there are many different versions of the universe, each with its own heroes, villains, and events. This phase will explore just how huge and dangerous the multiverse can be. It will show what happens when different realities collide and open the door for big battles, major surprises, and powerful new characters.

One of the most exciting parts of Phase Six is the possible introduction of Doctor Doom, one of the most famous and powerful villains in Marvel history. He is expected to become a major enemy in this phase, playing an important role in the events that unfold. Along with him, new heroes will rise, but they’ll have to face huge challenges and powerful threats as the multiverse becomes more unstable.

The initial plans for Phase Six, unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2022, heavily featured Kang the Conqueror as the saga’s primary antagonist. However, subsequent events led to a significant creative adjustment, with Doctor Doom now stepping into this pivotal role.

This shift necessitates a revised approach to the storylines and character developments leading into the concluding events of Avengers: Secret Wars. The introduction of Doctor Doom, a character with a rich history in Marvel Comics, signals a potentially darker and more complex direction for the overarching narrative.

Phase Six Film Slate:

The Fantastic Four: First Steps (July 25, 2025)

The first movie of Marvel’s Phase Six is The Fantastic Four: First Steps. It is set to come out on July 25, 2025. The film is directed by Matt Shakman, and the script was written by a team of writers: Jeff Kaplan & Ian Springer, Josh Friedman, Cameron Squires, Eric Pearson, and Peter Cameron. Kevin Feige is the producer.

The main cast includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing. Also joining the cast are Julia Garner as the Silver Surfer (reportedly the Shalla-Bal version) and Ralph Ineson as the powerful villain Galactus. John Malkovich, Paul Walter Hauser, and Natasha Lyonne will also appear in the film, but their roles have not been revealed yet.

The story will introduce the Fantastic Four, one of Marvel’s most famous superhero teams, and will take place in a world inspired by the 1960s, with a mix of old-fashioned and futuristic design. This special setting may be important to the bigger Multiverse Saga story, possibly connecting to other timelines or time-related events.

In the film, the team will face a huge challenge when they go up against Galactus, a powerful cosmic being who threatens Earth, and his messenger, the Silver Surfer.

The movie finished filming in November 2024, and it is now in the post-production stage, where editing and special effects are added. A teaser trailer was released on February 4, 2025, giving fans a first look at the movie’s style and mood. The trailer also hints at how the team came to be and the cosmic danger they must face.

Avengers: Doomsday (May 1, 2026)

Avengers: Doomsday Upcoming Marvel Movies in Phase Six
Avengers: Doomsday

After The Fantastic Four, the next big movie in Phase Six is called Avengers: Doomsday, and it’s scheduled to be released on May 1, 2026. This movie was originally titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, but the name was changed to reflect a new main villain. The film will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the same team who made Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, showing that Marvel is planning another huge and important event in the MCU.

The script is being written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely, and Kevin Feige, along with the Russo brothers, will serve as producers.

One of the most surprising and talked-about casting choices is the return of Robert Downey Jr.—but not as Iron Man. Instead, he will play Victor von Doom, also known as Doctor Doom. This unexpected role change has excited many fans, especially since Downey Jr. was such a big part of the earlier MCU as Tony Stark.

The movie will also include Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, returning from The Fantastic Four: First Steps. This shows that the story of Avengers: Doomsday is closely connected to the Fantastic Four movie. Characters from the upcoming Thunderbolts* movie are also expected to appear.

Other familiar MCU faces confirmed for the cast include Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova and Simu Liu as Shang-Chi. While most of the plot is still being kept secret, the movie is expected to focus on Doctor Doom as the main villain and will likely include a large team of heroes from across the Marvel universe—especially those from Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts*.

The story reportedly takes place 14 months after the events of Thunderbolts. Filming for Avengers: Doomsday began in 2024, officially kicking off during Comic-Con that year.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day (July 31, 2026)

Marvel Spider-Man: Brand New Day

After the events of Avengers: Doomsday, the next big movie in Phase Six will be Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is set to be released on July 31, 2026. This film was previously called Spider-Man 4. It will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who also directed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The script is being written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the same writers who worked on Spider-Man: Homecoming, Far From Home, and No Way Home. Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal are producing the movie.

Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. There are also rumors that Zendaya and Sadie Sink might join the cast, but their roles haven’t been officially confirmed yet.

The story of Spider-Man: Brand New Day is still mostly a secret, but many fans believe it will continue directly after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. It may focus on how Doctor Strange’s memory spell, which made everyone forget who Peter Parker is, has changed Peter’s life. Some rumors also say that this movie could tie into what happens in Avengers: Doomsday.

Another interesting theory is about the Venom symbiote—a small piece of it was left behind in the MCU after No Way Home, and fans think Peter might have to deal with it in this movie, possibly even wearing the black suit.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is currently in pre-production, which means the team is getting everything ready to film. The main filming is expected to begin in the summer of 2025.

Avengers: Secret Wars (May 7, 2027)

Avengers: Secret Wars Poster

The final movie of the Multiverse Saga will be Avengers: Secret Wars, set to release on May 7, 2027. Anthony and Joe Russo will return as directors, and the script will be written by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely. Kevin Feige, along with the Russo brothers, will also produce the film.

The cast is expected to include Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, along with Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, who are returning from The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova) and Simu Liu (Shang-Chi) are also expected to return. Since this movie will be the big ending to the Multiverse Saga, it will likely feature many important heroes and villains from Phases Five and Six.

The story will likely be inspired by Marvel’s famous Secret Wars comic book events—both the original 1984-85 version and the newer 2015-16 version. These comics were about different realities crashing together and being remade into a new world, which fits perfectly with the multiverse theme. The movie is also a direct sequel to Avengers: Doomsday, and some fans believe it might even reset or “soft reboot” parts of the MCU to start a new era of stories.

Right now, Avengers: Secret Wars is still in the development stage, and it has faced some delays and changes in the crew.

Marvel Studios has also planned two more movies for Phase Six, but their titles haven’t been announced yet. One of these mystery films is set to come out on February 13, 2026, which places it between The Fantastic Four: First Steps and Avengers: Doomsday. The second one is scheduled for November 6, 2026, which would be after Spider-Man: Brand New Day and before Avengers: Secret Wars.

There are several possibilities for what these movies might be. Fans are hoping for sequels like Doctor Strange 3, Shang-Chi 2, or even the long-awaited Blade movie. Some people also think it could be Black Panther 3 or another new project that hasn’t been revealed yet.

There are rumors that the November 2026 release could end up being either Black Panther 3 or Shang-Chi 2. However, the Blade movie has had many delays and is now considered to be on hold with no clear release date. As for Doctor Strange 3, filming is expected to start sometime in 2026, so it might come out in late 2026 or possibly 2027.

Shang-Chi 2 is already in development, but its release might be delayed because Destin Daniel Cretton, who is supposed to direct it, is currently working on Spider-Man: Brand New Day. These two open release dates give Marvel the flexibility to add important stories or characters that can help complete the Multiverse Saga as it nears its end.

Andrew Guest is the showrunner, and the directors include Destin Daniel Cretton, Stella Meghie, James Ponsoldt, and Tiffany Johnson. The main role of Simon Williams/Wonder Man is played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Phase Six Television Special on Disney+:

Untitled Punisher Special (2026): A standalone TV special focusing on Frank Castle, also known as the Punisher, is set to be released in 2026. Jon Bernthal will return to play the iconic role of the Punisher. Reinaldo Marcus Green will direct and co-write the special with Jon Bernthal.

The project is still in the development phase. Bernthal’s return is a big deal for fans who loved his performance in the previous Marvel Netflix series, and it hints at the possibility of more mature, street-level stories being included in the wider MCU.

MCU Phase Six will be an important moment in the franchise’s history, as it will bring the Multiverse Saga to its conclusion. With a carefully planned lineup of films and Disney+ series, this phase promises high-stakes stories, key character developments, and the introduction of major characters like the Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom.

The main conflict with Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., will lead to an epic finale in Avengers: Secret Wars, which could completely change the direction of the MCU.
