Amazon MGM Studios is diving into the world of fashion dolls — and bringing Kim Kardashian along for the ride.
The studio is now working on a live-action Bratz movie, based on the popular line of stylish dolls known for their bold looks and unique personalities. While the project is still in early stages and not officially finalized, Kim Kardashian is expected to play the villain in the film.
The screenplay is being written by Charlie Polinger and Lucy McKendrick, two rising talents in the film world.
Polinger recently gained attention at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival for his movie The Plague, starring Joel Edgerton, which told a dark and mysterious story set in a strange water camp. McKendrick, meanwhile, is currently working on a supernatural film called Fangs, featuring Toni Collette and Edgerton in a possession-themed thriller.
Though both writers are known for intense stories, it seems Amazon MGM Studios is taking a bold and creative approach to the Bratz brand.
Kim Kardashian’s Role in the Bratz Universe
Kim Kardashian is no stranger to the entertainment world. After starring in American Horror Story: Delicate and lending her voice to Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie, she’s now expected to play a major part in Bratz — possibly as the movie’s main villain.
While details about the plot and characters are still under wraps, her involvement adds major star power and public attention to the upcoming film.
Another Toy Brand Heads to the Big Screen
The move comes as part of a larger trend in Hollywood, where studios are turning popular toys into blockbuster movies. The massive success of Barbie — which earned over $1 billion worldwide — has pushed studios to look for the next big toy-inspired hit.
Amazon MGM Studios is also behind the upcoming Masters of the Universe film, with Nicholas Galitzine playing He-Man and Travis Knight directing. That movie is set to arrive in theaters on June 5, 2026.
So far, Bratz does not have a confirmed director or release date. But the bidding war for the rights and the involvement of big names like Kim Kardashian show that Amazon is serious about turning the fashion-forward dolls into a hit film.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Bratz movie as Amazon MGM Studios continues shaping its growing toy-based film lineup.
