If you’re a fan of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, we’ve got some exciting updates! For a long time, it looked like the hit Netflix anime was a one-time deal. But back in 2024, Netflix gave fans hope by teasing a return to the wild world of Night City. Since then, things went quiet… until now.
This week, the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners official Twitter/X account suddenly came back to life — and dropped a big hint! They posted that Cyberpunk will be part of this year’s Anime Expo, which happens in early July. While we don’t know exactly what’s coming, something big is clearly on the way.
Could we finally be getting Season 2? A spinoff? Maybe even a movie? Nobody knows for sure yet, but fans are buzzing with excitement. And we won’t have to wait long — Anime Expo is just around the corner.
Even if the news isn’t a direct continuation of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, it could still be something new set in the same universe. Since the show was created as a standalone story, the next project might be a fresh take with new characters.
And it makes sense that everyone is hyped — Cyberpunk: Edgerunners scored an impressive 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, and quickly became one of the top anime shows to watch. The series was made by Studio Trigger, the same creative team behind Kill la Kill and Little Witch Academia, and was loved for its wild action scenes and deep sci-fi world.
Anime Expo 2025 (July 3–6 in Los Angeles) is shaping up to be packed with big reveals. Besides Cyberpunk, we’ll also hear updates about Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3, Demon Slayer, Kaiju No.8, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, and more. So if you’re into anime, now’s the time to get excited.
Stay tuned — Night City might just be calling again!
