Dexter Morgan is back—and this time, he’s better than ever. Dexter: Resurrection, the newest season of the popular Showtime series, is getting great reviews from both fans and critics.
Even though some people didn’t love Dexter: New Blood (2021) or Original Sin (2024), this new chapter is winning viewers over. The show brings back Michael C. Hall as Dexter, the dark and complex antihero, and gives the story a fresh, smarter twist.
Ratings Are Through the Roof
On IMDb, Dexter: Resurrection has an amazing score of 9.2/10 (although that might drop a little as more people rate it). Over on Rotten Tomatoes, critics have given it a fantastic 90% rating, and audiences are not far behind with 85%.

What’s the Story?
The show picks up weeks after Dexter was shot by his own son, Harrison. He wakes up from a coma to find that Harrison is gone. Feeling guilty, Dexter goes to New York City to find him and try to fix their broken relationship.
But just as Dexter is trying to change, his old life comes back to haunt him. Angel Batista from Miami Metro shows up with questions. As Dexter and Harrison each fight their own darkness, things get even more intense than before.
