In the exciting third season of Star Trek: Picard, an old friend comes back with a big new job. Geordi La Forge, the smart and kind engineer from Star Trek: The Next Generation, is now a Commodore. That means he’s a leader who looks after more than one spaceship!
Many Commodores in Star Trek have made bad choices in the past. One of them, Commodore Oh, even pretended to be a good officer but was secretly working for the enemy. She caused a terrible robot attack on Mars and hurt a lot of people. Because of these bad characters, fans started thinking that being a Commodore in Star Trek was a “bad guy” role.
But Geordi changed that! In Picard Season 3, we find him working as the Head Curator at the Starfleet Museum. That means he’s in charge of old starships and making sure they are safe. He even spent 20 years rebuilding the famous USS Enterprise-D—the ship he once worked on with Captain Picard. He did it as a passion project, just because he cared. That ship later became super important in saving the galaxy!
When Admiral Picard and the old crew needed his help to stop a big danger from the Borg and Changelings, Geordi wasn’t sure at first. He was worried about keeping his daughters safe. But with their support, he decided to do the right thing—and joined the fight.
Geordi’s bravery, love for his friends, and clever thinking helped save the day. Fans were happy to see that not all Commodores are bad. In fact, Geordi showed what a great Starfleet leader can be like!
